As part of Media General’s preparation ahead of this year’s elections, 3FM organised its 3rd Constituency Debate at the La Dadekotopon Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

Enthusiastic residents thronged the venue to quiz their parliamentary aspirants on their promises.

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic (NDC) parliamentary candidates came face-to -face with their constituents to answer questions on how they intend to develop the constituency.

NPP’s candidate, Gerald Nyanyofio, promised to ensure development is brought to the community to benefit the youth especially.

He said on top of his agenda is job creation.

On her part, the NDC’s parliamentary candidate, Rita Odoley Sowah, said she will ensure an all-inclusive development for the people in the constituency.

She said women and girls in the constituency will benefit from vocational training programmes she intends introducing if voted into power.

The La Dadekotopon Constituency can be described as a swing constituency in the Greater Accra Region since 1996.

Sylvester Mensah represented the NDC in 1996.

He lost to Godfred Ako-nai of the NPP in the 2000 elections.

Ako-nai also lost to Nii Amasah Namoale of the NDC, which held on to the seat till 2016 when he also lost to Vincent Sowah Odotei of the NPP.

Vincent Sowah Odotei lost at the NPP Primaries in June to Nii Tetteh Nyanyofio.

The La Dadekotopon Constituency, promises to be one to watch on December 7.
