The minister charged newly appointed council members to carry out their duties with integrity, professionalism and a strong sense of public service. He urged them to work closely with college management to promote academic excellence, improve staff welfare, support infrastructure development and ensure the prudent use of resources.
Iddrisu also highlighted the central role of Colleges of Education in producing competent, innovative and values-driven teachers to drive education reforms, particularly at the basic education level. He said the quality of teacher preparation remains key to the success of ongoing reforms in the sector.
Reaffirming government support, the minister said the administration remains committed to providing the necessary policy backing to enable Colleges of Education to effectively fulfil their mandate of training teachers capable of meeting the country’s evolving educational needs.
