Former Black Stars Coach James Kwesi Appiah has penned an emotional message to all Ghanaians after he was relieved of his position as Black Stars coach a few days ago.
The letter was one that chronicled his time as the boss managing the affairs of the senior national team.
In the message addressed to lovers of the game, and the president of Ghana, Coach Kwesi Appiah said, “Its been an absolute honour to have had the opportunity and privilege to coach the Black Stars of Ghana”.
Kwesi Appiah’s tenure ended a week ago when the Ghana Football Association (GFA) decided against offering him a new deal after dissolving all technical teams of the various national teams.
Appiah said in the letter that coaching the senior national team was an absolute honour, expressing his gratitude to President Akufo-Addo, the Sports Ministry and GFA for their support.
“I have always felt immense pride in my Association with the senior national team, as a player and a coach, and served diligently throughout my coaching contract which expired on Tuesday December 31”.
“Through the years I was in charge, I worked with my backroom staff to lay a strong foundation required for others to build on, towards a better future, and success for the team”.
