President Nana Akufo-Addo says he has fulfilled 72 per cent of the promises he made to Ghanains in the run up to the last general elections.
Policy think-tank IMANI Ghana in its assessment of the Akufo-Addo government concluded the President has in his three years in office managed to fulfill only 48.78 per cent of the promises he and his New Patriotic Party made.
According to IMANI, only 27 per cent of the 510 promises made by the then candidate Akufo-Addo has been fully fulfilled, with 21.75 per cent partially fulfilled.
IMANI’s report also indicated that 51.22 per cent of the promises are yet to be initiated.
But responding to the assessment at the President’s media encounter at the Jubilee House in Accra on Friday, Nana Akufo-Addo rejected the figures by IMANI, stating they are inaccurate.
“I disagree with the promises that have been delivered, and are being delivered,” he stated.
According to Nana Akufo-Addo, “The figure that we are working with is… 72 per cent and not 48 per cent in terms of the promises that have been delivered and those that are in the course of being delivered,” noting “we have a fundamental disagreement on the figures”.
He indicated that there is enough proof and information to show that the figure from government is the accurate one.
Nana Akufo-Addo further assured Ghanaians that government is working to ensure all promises made are fulfilled.
