As President of the Lordina Foundation, the former First Lady acknowledges and celebrates “the men and women who have over the years served as foster parents to children who have called the orphanages across the country their home.”
According to Lordina Mahama, all home patrons and orphanage attendants deserve to be appreciated for their selflessness and love.
“These hardworking and compassionate Home Matrons deserve to be celebrated on behalf of the children they nurture, train, teach and mould. Thank you for the selfless sacrifices, love and care you show to these children.”, she noted.
Meanwhile, First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo has called on pregnant women to get tested for HIV to help prevent mother-to-child transmission of the disease.

She said her foundation is committed to supporting foster homes and orphanages in the country to make them a haven of comfort for dwellers.
“The Lordina Foundation as it has always done will continue to support these homes as they build a conducive home environment for children who find themselves there.”
She added it is important that as Ghanaians we “develop a culture of kindness, put a smile on the faces of the needy and extend a helping hand to our neighbours”.
For her “Mothers are precious and irreplaceable”. She has therefore urged all to make this day a memorable one for all mothers.
