Abronye Launches ‘Ohia TV’ To Tackle Ken Agyapong

It is coming across as though the internal wrangling in the camp of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) is not going to stop anytime soon.

The struggle for the soul of the party on who to lead the party for the next general election in 2024, is pushing many of the bigwigs and members to verbally attack one another.

Two leading figures, a presidential hopeful Ken Agyapong and the Bono Regional chairman Kwame Baffoe alias Abronye DC, are making the party less attractive with their endless fights.

The two have been on each other’s neck after their first public clash in the Bono Region, during the ‘thank you’ tour of the party about two months ago.

Abronye, who has sustained the heat on Ken for some time has gone a notch higher by establishing an online television channel, to propagate the agenda of the NPP.

Even though that is what he says is the mission of the channel, Ohia TV Online, he appears to spend more time on Ken.

He appears to have coined the name from his exchanges with him in his home region where the former Member of Parliament (MP) for the Assin Central constituency described the chairman as “ohia ni” meaning poor man.

The channel will be competing with Solid TV, another online platform where loyalists of Ken propagate his presidential dream and dish out responses to his attackers.

During his first show over the weekend, Abronye spent a considerable time to attack the former MP, questioning his so-called wealth.

He advised those canvassing for support for Ken, thinking that as a businessman, he is the right person to lead the NPP and Ghana, to offer them jobs to have a rethink.

According to him, even though he calls himself rich, people who work for Ken in his media organizations, are poorly remunerated leading to many of them, quitting the job.

He claimed, some of these workers are paid as low as GHc1, 500 which in his view is peanut.

“I have said it, my station, I am going to use it for NPP. Some of you that are following someone that, he is the one that is going to offer you jobs, last time his own station, someone who has worked for 15 years, he was paying him GHc1500.

Most of his employees are resigning”, he said.

Adding “He brags he has helped people but recently two people have resigned, next month too some will leave”.

Abronye also threatened to expose and collapse the campaign of Ken assuring that by the time they will come out of the presidential primaries, Ken will have no leg to stand on.

“He said this campaign will be exciting and that he will say a lot of things? He should get ready because by the time we are done, everything would have been destroyed. What we will display in this country will make him withdraw”, Abronye said

He also denied being supported financial and logistics wise in the past by Ken.

“You will be there then someone will retort that he bought car for you. Me, he has bought a car for me? If he has indeed bought me a land cruiser, he should buy same for his child because none of his children rides land cruiser. Then they will go and bring pictures of land cruiser on social media that he bought it for me. Everyone that knows me know that I don’t use land cruiser. If he uses Tundra, I use better Tundra so how can he purchase less expensive Tundra and he buy me a better Tundra?

How possible? It is Korean Tundra he uses, I drive better Tundra”, he said boasted.

He also denied claims that he is an ungrateful person. According to Abronye, even though he is a poor man, he is very proud and so does not go around begging to survive.

“Today, where is his media station?  We will not establish media station and use it to attack NPP. People say Abronye is on ungrateful. I have never begged anyone but of you lie against me God will punish you. It was someone that named me Abronye stubborn proud. I am a poor man stubborn proud; I am not a beggar. I should be you for money because I am not thinking well?” he said on the first show called ‘The Evidence.’
