Vice President, H.E. Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, has met with a delegation from Absa Bank Ghana to discuss the bank’s ongoing efforts to advance inclusivity, support small and medium enterprises, and expand financing opportunities for women-led and agribusiness ventures.
According to the Office of the Vice President, Absa officials briefed Prof. Opoku-Agyemang on their growing portfolio in SME development, agricultural financing, and targeted support for women entrepreneurs.
The Vice President thanked the team for their deliberate focus on women in agribusiness and urged the bank to scale up backing for women involved in agro-processing, including those producing oils and other value-added products in local communities.
She noted that increased, tailored support would help these women modernize operations, improve working conditions, and strengthen their confidence as economic contributors.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang also encouraged ABSA to expand opportunities for young people, stressing that empowering the next generation remains central to addressing national development priorities. She further called on women in leadership to continue speaking boldly in decision-making spaces.
The Vice President underscored the government’s commitment to working closely with financial institutions to broaden economic participation and build a more resilient and inclusive economy.
