AFC Bournemouth have confirmed the transfer of striker Antoine Selorm Semenyo to Manchester City for a club-record fee.
Confirming this on X on Friday, January 9, the Cherries paid glowing tribute to the nimble-footed winger.
AFC Bournemouth Manager Andoni Iraola had confirmed that Semenyo had played his last match for his side in the 3-2 win over Tottenham Hotspur, the departing forward getting the winner.
The deal to Manchester City is for five-and-a-half years.
“I am so proud to have joined Manchester City,” Semenyo said.
“I have watched City over the last decade under Pep Guardiola, and they have been the dominant team in the Premier League as well as achieving amazing things in the Champions League, FA Cup and League Cup.”
Semenyo has been handed the jersey number 42.
He will be available to feature immediately for City, who have an FA Cup 3rd round game against Exeter City on Saturday.
The Ghanaian is eligible as well to play in next Tuesday’s Carabao Cup semi-final game against Newcastle United.
