The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo will deliver his first State of the Nation Address to Parliament on February 21, 2017.
This was contained in a letter addressed to Parliament on February 9.
The delivery of the address is in accordance with Article 67 the 1992 Constitution which states: “The President shall, at the beginning of each session of Parliament and before a dissolution of Parliament, deliver a message on the state of the nation”.
Nana Akufo-Addo won power in the December 7 general elections with an overwhelming majority in Parliament, and was sworn in as the 5th president of Ghana under the Fourth Republic on January 7, 2017.
