The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta as well as former Commissioners-General of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) cited for corruption and corruption-related offences will be arraigned before court on Monday, November 24. The OSP has charged these persons, eight in all, with a total of 78 charges. The first Commissioner-General appointed by then President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in his government, Emmanuel Kofi Nti, has been slapped with most of the charges. One person has been confirmed dead and four are in critical condition after an accident involving some members of the National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) in Obuasi. The accident is said to have occurred on Wednesday, November 19 near the Obuasi Airport area. Black Queens have lost the 2025 CAF National Women’s Team of the Year Award to ten-time African champions Nigeria. The Awards were announced on Wednesday, November 19 during the 2025 CAF Awards at the Mohamed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco. The Black Queens had made the shortlist from an initial 10-nation nominees. Their run-up to winning Bronze at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Morocco earned them nomination. It says Mr Ofori-Atta’s name, image and details have only been redacted following an application he made last month. The Community Court of Justice in Abuja, Nigeria has dismissed preliminary objections filed by Ghana, challenging its jurisdiction to hear and determine the legality of the suspension of Justice Getrude Araba Sackey Torkornoo as Justice of the Supreme Court.
