The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) has arrested a group of armed thugs who were parading as an anti-galamsey task force in the Nyankamam Armoyi Forest within the Aowin Municipality of the Western North Region. The arrest, which took place Wednesday night, followed a three-day unsuccessful operation by NAIMOS personnel in the region. Four persons have been arrested by officers of the Ghana Police Service in connection with the murder of the Akwamuhene of Tanoso in the Bono East Region. The deceased chief was said to have been destooled but had rejected the decision and engaged the family in multiple litigations. He was later found dead, murdered in cold blood.
