The Chief Justice, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has directed the closure of the Kwame Danso District Court in the Bono East Region “until further notice”. This follows Wednesday’s besiege of the Court by irate youth, who attacked staff including a judge and vandalised properties worth thousands of Cedis. Some 200 West African soldiers, mainly from Nigeria and Ivory Coast, are in Benin to support the government following Sunday’s failed coup, Benin’s foreign minister says.
