The Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) says it is working hard to have the results of next month’s elections known within 24 hours. Director of Electoral Services Dr Serebour Quaicoe said all things being equal, the Commission wants all results declared by close of the following day. He made this known at a national dialogue on electoral violence held at the instance of Youth Bridge Foundation in collaboration with the EC. The Ayeduase shooting is taking an interesting twist as contradictory eyewitness reports have revealed the suspect, Samson Zabanga, may not have shot himself as being reported by police. A number of shops at the Pedestrian Shopping Mall at Odawna near the Kwame Nkrumah Interchange in Accra has been razed down. The shops were razed down by an inferno which is said to have started around 1:30am of Wednesday, November 18. It is unclear what sparked the inferno but personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) are at the scene to control the situation with investigations expected to begin immediately.
