The timely intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) saw staff of the Marwako Food Restaurant as well as Total and Goil fuel stations in La, Accra safely evacuated following a suspected gas leakage from the restaurant. Commuters sounded an alarm after they smelled gas in the area. The scared commuters said gas could be smelled on the La-Tema highway.

Hundreds of youth in the Yilo and Manya Krobo districts of the Eastern Region have embarked on a demonstration to demand a memorandum of understanding between the Krobos and the Volta River Authority before the construction of the Akosombo and Akuse dams.
