The Western Regional Command of Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) repatriated hundreds of illegitimate foreign nationals from the region, a senior officer has said. Speaking on the sidelines of the Service’s end-of-year dinner and awards night in Takoradi, the Western Regional Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Immigration (DCI) Dr. Prosper Asima mentioned that due to some unapproved routes, controlling entries of some of these nationals become a challenge. Three illegal miners have been arrested by the Asokwa District Police at Nweneso in the Atwima Kwanwoma District of the Ashanti Region.
