Speaking at a Mass in the northern city of Trujillo, the Pope called the violence “a plague” that needed to be combated across the region. Some unknown persons Sunday dawn broke into the Kwabenya Police Station and shot the police officer on duty. Reports say they attacked the station to set free some inmates. Seven persons held at the cells are currently at large. The police have, as a result, mounted a manhunt for them.
