The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has unanimously approved the 2020 manifesto. The manifesto, to be known as the People’s Manifesto, was approved on Monday at a meeting of the Committee held in Accra. A court in Saudi Arabia has commuted the death sentences handed to five people convicted over the 2018 murder of Jamal Khashoggi, state media report. The public prosecution said they were given 20-year jail terms because the journalist’s family had pardoned them. Three others had their sentences of between seven and 10 years upheld. India has recorded more than 90,000 new cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours, taking its total above that of Brazil. The country now has the second-largest number of confirmed cases in the world, 4,204,613. It has reported 71,642 deaths, the third-highest in the world.
