He signed the extension of the EI on Monday, September 14. President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced that domestic competitive football will resume on Friday, October 30. This will see a restart of the Ghana Premier League and the Division One. Matches will be with a quarter of spectators at each stadia to ensure the social distancing protocol as regards coronavirus. The World Health Organization (WHO) has agreed rules for the testing of African herbal remedies to fight Covid-19. Sound science would be the sole basis for safe and effective traditional therapies to be adopted, it said. Any traditional remedies that are judged effective could be fast-tracked for large-scale manufacturing. Madagascar’s leader has been promoting an untested product he says can cure the disease despite the WHO warning against using untested remedies. The Ghana Police Service has announced that its officers from the National Headquarters will embark on a route march in Accra on Monday, September 21 in what it describes as a “confidence building march”. The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has dispatched a delegation to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) in Kumasi, where survivors of a deadly accident involving some colt footballers are receiving treatment. The accident left six of the footballers dead instantly with two later dying at KATH.
