A US judge has issued a temporary halt to the deportation of visa holders or refugees stranded at airports following President Trump’s executive order. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) filed a case in response to the order issued on Friday. The group estimates that between 100 and 200 people are being detained at airports or in transit. Thousands of people have been protesting at US airports over Mr Trump’s clampdown on immigration. His executive order halted the entire US refugee programme and also instituted a 90-day travel ban for nationals from Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.…

Members of the Ghana Association for the Study of Liver and Digestive Diseases are advocating a nationwide campaign to increase public awareness on Hepatitis. Interacting with TV3 after a one-day training workshop for health experts on the hepatitis B, the national president of the association, Dr Mary Yeboah  Afihene, said only a few of the estimated 10-15 percent of Ghanaian adults with chronic hepatitis are aware of their condition. The Ashanti Regional Command of the Ghana National Fire Service is targeting a 60 percent reduction in fire incidents by the close of 2017. Though the region recorded one hundred and one (101) fire incidents less in January this year as compared to the same period in 2016 (196), the rate according to the regional fire commander DCFO Semekor Fiadzo is still alarming.
