Government is to review the curricula for the country’s trainee teachers to include technical and vocational subjects at the various Colleges of Education, minister -designate for Education, Dr Mathew Opoku Prempeh has said. Though trainee teachers are not taught technical and vocational skills as part of their training, they are made to handle the two subjects at their various basic schools upon graduation. Education Minister-designate, Matthew Opoku Prempeh has disclosed that the New Patriotic Party government has no immediate intention to revert second cycle education to four years. The number of years spent in the Senior High School has been changed, at least twice, in two decades when the Sixth Form system was phased out. An urban development planner, Bernard Abeiku Arthur, is backing moves by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to relocate the headquarters of the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) to the Western region. It has emerged that for four solid years, a total of 19 Members of Parliament who were part of the Sixth Parliament under the Fourth Republic did not make a single statement on the floor of Parliament.
