A six-year-old YouTube star known in Burundi for his popular comedy sketches has died of malaria, his manager says. Darcy Irakoze, known as Kacaman, was a primary school pupil who performed online and in theatres. He contracted malaria on Wednesday and died one day later. Malaria has killed over 1,800 people in Burundi this year, according to the World Health Organization (WHO). More than five million cases have been recorded in the country since January. A total of 1,719 vehicles that were confiscated by the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) between 2015 and 2017, and auctioned by the authority cannot be accounted for, the 2018 Auditor-General’s Report has revealed. Additionally, the report indicated that while GRA officials provided information on just 669 of the vehicles, there was no ample proof of the exact amount that was accrued to the state from the auction of those vehicles. The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), has warned all social media marketing agencies advertising sales of all kinds of unregistered medical devices, food and products, whether imported or locally manufactured to desist from the practice. It noted that the act contravened the Public Health Act 2012, (Act 851) which empowered the Authority to test and approve drug, food, medical devices, household chemicals, tobacco and tobacco products, amongst others before being sold on the market.
