The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), has warned all social media marketing agencies advertising sales of all kinds of unregistered medical devices, food and products, whether imported or locally manufactured to desist from the practice. It noted that the act contravened the Public Health Act 2012, (Act 851) which empowered the Authority to test and approve drug, food, medical devices, household chemicals, tobacco and tobacco products, amongst others before being sold on the market. The Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has launched a dual purpose EMV and financial inclusion payment card in Accra. Known as the Gh Dual Card, the new product, being rolled out by the Ghana Interbank Payment and Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS), is a two-in-one payment card that has both the e-zwich and gh-link applications. The Dwantoahene of Osenase in the Lower West Akyem Municipality of the Eastern region has been stabbed to death in the abdomen. Nana Ofori Dadiako was stabbed in his own residence on Tuesday. Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr. Ernest Addison has denied that there was a grand scheme by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, and him to collapse banks perceived to be affiliated with political opponents. Workers of the Producer Buying Company (PBC) Limited have appealed to government for a bail out to enable the company service its debt and re-profile its short term maturing debt to a long-term one. This, they said, would give the company the needed space to recover and retire all debt properly to ensure that it became a vibrant company once more. Work at the Takoradi Flour Mills has ceased following a misunderstanding between the workers and management. The workers have for the past one month been agitating for the removal of their expatriate General Manager Thierry Loupiac. The workers have accused Mr. Loupiac of gross disrespect and unruly behavior towards them. They claim that the Frenchman will without any provocation spew unprintable words on them.
