The sell-off in US Treasuries on Wednesday sends a clear message: the world’s most trusted sovereign debt is no longer the ultimate safe harbour for investors—and the fallout could ultimately threaten the dollar’s supremacy too. This is the alarming warning from Nigel Green, CEO and Founder of global financial advisory giant, deVere Group, as US President Donald Trump’s new tariffs on major trading partners took hold on Wednesday, and the traditional stability of Treasuries was upended. The operation, which was heavily guarded by armed security personnel, forms part of a broader plan by the Regional Security Council (REGSEC) to sanitize and protect Accra’s reserved lands and vegetative cover from illegal encroachment. A total of a dozen unapproved structures were demolished—many of which were still under construction, with some at the lintel level. Surprisingly, the exercise faced no resistance from developers or occupants. Observers noted that…
Birmingham scientists have shown that a sequence of just three amino acids may reduce the severity of psoriasis, when applied topically in an emollient cream. The researchers, whose study is published in Pharmacological Research, identified the smallest part of a peptide (small protein) called PEPITEM, which occurs naturally in the body and regulates inflammation. The study also showed that both PEPITEM and the three amino acid (tripeptide) sequence delivered a significant reduction in the severity of psoriasis, that is comparable to a steroid cream. Psoriasis is a long-term disease with no cure, where the skin cells multiply too quickly, resulting…
