The Central Regional Police Command has arrested seven suspects in an intelligence-led swoop targeting narcotic drug peddling and related criminal activities within the Cape Coast Metropolis. The arrests were made on Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, as part of a coordinated operation aimed at clamping down on the sale and use of prohibited drugs in identified hotspots across the metropolis. The Government of Ghana has begun the 99th cycle of payments under the Livelihood Empowerment Against Poverty (LEAP) programme, with nationwide disbursement starting Monday, Dec. 22, 2025.
