A downpour Thursday night in Kumasi in the Ashanti Region has caused havoc to portions of Kumasi Central Prison. A portion of the Prison’s wall collapsed while some vehicles, including a bus parked in the yard close to the wall were also destroyed. The incident, 3News gathered from Prison sources, did not affect the prison cells where both remand and convicted prisoners are being held. About 200-metre stretch of the wall, which is behind the prison yard and leads to the quarters of the Prison officers and wardens, collapsed in the incident. The Ghana Meteorological Agency is warning of a heavy rainstorm across the middle and northern sectors of the country from Thursday evening through to the night. A magistrate on Thursday morning barred journalists from covering the case in which two persons are standing trial for the murder of the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North, Joseph Boakye Danquah-Adu. No reasons were given by the magistrate, Arit Nsemoh, who shouted “no journalists are allowed into the courtroom” just before proceedings started. A group of Krobos in the Greater Accra Region has served notice to sue Ghanaian rapper, Sarkodie and two others over his lyrics suggesting that Krobos have been cursed with promiscuity. Rapping on Kurl Songx’s “Jennifer Lomotey” Sarkodie said: “Krɔbɔ nii baa papa a ahweneɛ da ne sisi.
