The future of some 46,000 students including those doing distance learning is in limbo as all campuses of the University of Education shuts down due to a suit filed against the school at the Winneba High Court. Captain of the Ghana national football team, Asamoah Gyan, popularly known as ‘Baby Jet’ struck his 50th international goal for the country against Ethiopia on Sunday during the 2019 Cup of Nations qualifier at Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi. Barring any unforeseen circumstances, the National Identification Authority (NIA) will issue the first of the proposed Ghana National Identity Card on September 15, 2017. According to Prof. Kenneth Agyemang Attafuah, Executive Secretary of the NIA, persons living in areas with good internet coverage will get their cards within 10 minutes of their filling the appropriate forms, while those with unreliable or non-existent coverage will have the printing of theirs deferred for a short period. “You can expect to see a card on the 15th of September, 2017, when we roll out” Prof Attafuah assured at a media interaction on Monday…

Child Rights International  (CRI) is demanding the whereabouts of a 12-year-old boy who was arrested in connection with the murder of Major Maxwell Adam Mahama. The boy was arrested at Manso Nkwanta days after the senior military officer was lynched by a mob at Denkyira-Obuasi on May 29. A 78 year old man has been stabbed to death by an unknown assailant at Adiebeba, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti Region. Mr Anthony Adomako, who is the CEO of Coconut Guest House at Adiebeba, was murdered on Monday, 11th June 2017 at about 11:30pm.
