Operators of the popular tricycles, known ass “Mahama Camboo”, in the Bolgatanga municipality are calling on the Upper East Regional Security Council to lift the one month curfew on the use of the tricycles at night. The REGSEC two weeks ago imposed a 7:00pm to 6:00am curfew on the commercial use of the tricycles in the municipality in an effort to check the abuse of the tricycles which have become the main form of transportation for the people. Ghana’s Attorney General has justified the freeing of two persons who were being tried for the murder of one of the country’s members of parliament, stating the action was necessary in view of further investigations into the February 9, 2016 incident.
