A government of Ghana-registered school bus for the Evangelical Presbyterian College is captured being used to carry firewood, ostensibly for the school’s kitchen, to prepare meals for students. A mentally deranged homeless woman who was impregnated by a stranger on the street of Accra, has received a rare miracle; she has regained her mental sanity with the delivery of twins. The Catholic Relief Services in collaboration with the International Fertilizer Development Center has supplied 1,080 farmers in the Northern region with certified seeds for the 2017 farming season under the Agriculture Technology Transfer programme. The National Service Scheme has denied reports that it has extended the duration of this year’s national service. Management of the Scheme has consequently asked service personnel and the general public to ignore those reports which have gone viral on social media. “Management wishes to state unequivocally that there has neither been any such discussion nor decision to extend the period OT notional service this year,” it said in a statement Saturday. Three private health facilities in the Ashanti Region have folded up due to the over 14-month indebtedness of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA) to health facilities across the country. The NHIA owes the Christian Health Association of Ghana (CHAG) hospitals alone over 200 million cedis due to years of accumulated arrears the government has failed to settle service providers under the scheme. The District Chief Executive for Kwabre East in the Ashanti Region has promised to increase the patronage of the popular traditional kente cloth under his leadership.
