Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested two men for the unlawful possession of a large cache of ammunition after intercepting a commercial bus at a security checkpoint. In a statement, the Ashanti South Regional Police Command said officers on duty at the Kantanso–Asankare Police Barrier arrested the suspects on December 26, 2025. Ghana’s Minister of Finance, Cassiel Ato Forson, has announced that the government has successfully settled a US$709 million Eurobond obligation ahead of schedule, marking what he described as a significant milestone in the country’s economic recovery and debt-management efforts.
