Calm has returned to the Sogakope township after a businessman and the Assemblyman for Sogakope South Electoral Area was murdered in cold blood which created a chaotic situation at the place. Marcus Mawutor Adzahli was shot and killed by unknown gunmen who broke into his residence Sunday dawn. The assailants assaulted the wife who later collapsed. The Assembly Member for Sogakope South electoral area in the Volta Region, Marcus Mawutor Adzahli, was shot dead Sunday dawn by armed men in his house. The wife who was also brutalized collapsed and was rushed to hospital by residents later in the morning for treatment. Snippets of information gathered by 3news.com point to contract killing. Private legal practitioner, Bobby Banson is challenging the Special Prosecutor to take up the alleged mismanaged of funds at the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund) without waiting for his office to be petitioned. A report by the Auditor-General cited the GETFund for disbursing funds to unqualified persons between 2012 and 2018 and overrunning its budget for scholarship each year to as high as 378%. Security forces in Togo have used force to disperse protesters who defied government warning to take part in a protest march in the capital, Lome.
