The Gambia has warned its ousted leader Yahya Jammeh not to try to return home from his exile in Equatorial Guinea. Mr Jammeh’s safety couldn’t be guaranteed if he did return without permission, a government spokesman told the BBC. A spokesman for Mr Jammeh’s party said he could arrive back at any time. Hundreds of pregnant women within the Wa East District of the Upper West Region do not have access to ultrasound scan due to its unavailability in the area. Pregnant women requiring such medical services will have to travel over 100 kilometres to Wa, a journey many of the women do not dare embark on due to the additional financial burden and the poor nature of the roads to the regional capital. The ultrasound scan machine, according to health officials, cost 15,000 cedis but none of the health facilities in the district has been able to procure one for antenatal services.…

The Hohoe Municipal Assembly in the Volta Region in 2019 generated 15,765 cedis from the registration of businesses and marriages within the municipality. About 3,666 cedis was generated from the registration of 39 marriages and 12,099 cedis from 111 businesses.
