The Berekum Circuit Court has remanded a suspect into police custody in connection with an alleged attack that left two people seriously injured.
Emmanuel Yeboah was remanded by the court, presided over by His Honour Mr Osei Kofi Amoako Esq., to face charges of attempted murder and causing harm, according to a press release issued by the Bono Regional Police Command.
Police said Yeboah was arrested on 3 January 2026 following a report of an assault involving his brother and his brother’s wife. The victims reportedly sustained multiple injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment at a health facility.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspect allegedly ambushed the couple while they were on their way to a disputed cashew farm. The incident is believed to have been triggered by a long-standing disagreement over ownership of the farmland.
Officers retrieved a cutlass at the scene, which has been taken into custody as an exhibit, police said.
The Bono Regional Police Command said investigations are ongoing and assured the public of its commitment to ensuring justice is served.
Yeboah is expected to reappear before the Berekum Circuit Court on 12 January 2026 for the continuation of proceedings.
The statement was signed by Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah, Public Relations Officer of the Bono Regional Police Command.
