A 1-0 win by the Black Princesses in South Africa on Saturday gave the team a 3-2 aggregate win in the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
Substitute Priscilla Mensah’s second-half strike gave the team the vital win at the Mbombela Stadium.
The first leg had ended 2-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium last Sunday.
This required Charles Sampson’s side to win at all cost in order to make it to the next round of qualifiers.
After a goalless first half, Sampson threw in Priscilla after an injury to Mary Amponsah.
A few minutes after coming on, the Ghana Number 9 scored the only goal to win the day for her side.
With the 3-2 aggregate win, the Black Princesses will face Uganda in the final round of qualifiers in May.
The East Africans beat their Zambian counterparts 2-1 on aggregate to also qualify.
