Black Queens have lost the 2025 CAF National Women’s Team of the Year Award to ten-time African champions Nigeria.
The Awards were announced on Wednesday, November 19 during the 2025 CAF Awards at the Mohamed VI Polytechnic University in Rabat, Morocco.
The Black Queens had made the shortlist from an initial 10-nation nominees.
Their run-up to winning Bronze at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) on Morocco earned them nomination.
They were later shortlisted alongside the eventual champions and Morocco’s Atlas Lionesses.
However, the award was handed the record African champions.
