The Black Queens will play at next year’s Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after seeing off Egypt 4-0 at home in the second leg of the final round qualifiers.
The 2024 WAFCON Bronze medallists, therefore, book their ticket 7-0 on aggregate.
Hapoel Jerusalem forward Doris Boaduwaa opened the scoring at the Accra Sports Stadium after the break.
She went on to score two more goals while Comfort Yeboah got the other in the 4-0 drubbing of the Cleopatras.
The Egyptians protested the first goal after their goalkeeper was seen to have handled it before the ball dropped to Boaduwaa.
But after the referee adjudged that as a goalkeeping blunder, and so accepting the goal, the floodgates opened as four went past Habiba Emad.
Next year’s tournament, scheduled to take place in Morocco, will be held from Tuesday, March 17 to Friday, April 3, 2026.
The tournament will serve as qualifiers for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup to be held in Brazil.
