The Communications Director of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Henry Asante Twum, has given an update on the injury situation of Black Stars midfielder Francis Abu.
The Toulouse player broke his leg in Ghana’s 0-2 loss to Japan in the Kirin Challenge Cup early on Thursday.
He was offered an emergency treatment at the Toyota Stadium in Aichi and later rushed to the Toyota Memorial Hospital for further care.
“The Ghana Football Association wishes to inform the public that Francis Abu is in a stable condition,” Mr Asante Twum wrote on Facebook.
He indicated that Ghana’s medical team led by Dr Prince Pambo and the Toulouse FC team doctor as well as doctors at the Toyota Memorial Hospital held meetings “and agreed on the appropriate management plan for the player”.
On behalf of the GFA, Mr Asante Twum thanked Ghanaians for their support and outpour of solidarity during the incident.
He wished Francis Abu a speedy recovery.
