The Ghana Police Service says it has arrested another suspect in connection with the killing of a police officer in Zebilla in the country’s Upper East Region, as investigations intensify into the case.
In a statement issued on 17 February 2026, the Criminal Investigation Department identified the suspect as Abdul Aziz Iddrisu, also known as Baaluuse. He was apprehended during a joint intelligence-led operation at his hideout in Polego, a suburb of Bolgatanga.
Police said three mobile phones were retrieved from the suspect at the time of arrest and are currently being analysed as part of ongoing inquiries. Investigators believe the devices may provide crucial leads regarding the fatal attack and possible accomplices.
Authorities also disclosed that the suspect has been seen in videos displaying weapons thought to be connected to criminal activity in the area. A special operation is under way to trace and recover the weapons and to arrest others suspected of involvement in the killing.
The suspect remains in police custody assisting with investigations, officials said, adding that further updates will be communicated as new information emerges.
