Chelsea’s new manager, Liam Rosenior, has been warmly praised by his father, former professional footballer Leroy Rosenior, who described the appointment as a moment of pride and deep personal significance for their family.
Speaking in an interview, Leroy Rosenior said Liam, his oldest son, has grown up surrounded by football and understood the demands of the game from an early age. He reflected on the family’s journey, tracing their roots to West Africa, explaining that his own father migrated from Sierra Leone to Britain in the 1950s with little more than his bags in search of a better life.
Leroy Rosenior, who played professional football during the 1980s and 1990s, said his son spent much of his childhood around dressing rooms and training grounds, absorbing the culture of the sport. He described Chelsea’s decision as “absolutely amazing” and a reward for years of hard work.
Beyond the professional achievement, Rosenior admitted the move carries emotional meaning, saying it could finally allow him to see his son regularly after a long period apart.
