The Chief Justice, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, has directed the closure of the Kwame Danso District Court in the Bono East Region “until further notice”.
This follows Wednesday’s besiege of the Court by irate youth, who attacked staff including a judge and vandalised properties worth thousands of Cedis.
The rampaging youth forcibly took away two accused persons who were standing trial at the time and assaulted the complainant in the case.
They later attacked two officers who were on duty at the Kwame Danso Police Headquarters and vandalized the police station.
The Inspector General of Police (IGP), Christian Tetteh Yohuno, has since ordered the closure of the station.
In a circular dated Friday, December 12, 2025, the Deputy Judicial Secretary for the Northern Sector, Justice Frederick Tetteh, conveyed the Chief Justice’s directive to the Regional Administrative Officer.
“Please treat this directive as urgent,” the circular concluded.
