Popular content creator and entrepreneur Gisela Amponsah has revealed that she experienced suicidal thoughts two to three years ago, describing the period as one of her darkest in recent memory. Speaking on the Showbiz360 with Giovani caleb, Gisela disclosed that her struggles were not related to her social media presence but to personal challenges she was facing at the time.
“I used to be highly suicidal,” Amponsah told host Giovani, explaining that the pressure of personal issues combined with the scrutiny of online life intensified her distress. She described moments when even minor criticisms online felt overwhelming, making it difficult to rest or cope.
Gisela highlighted that therapy played a crucial role in her recovery, noting that she has undergone professional therapy three times in her life. She emphasised the importance of vulnerability and seeking help, even when it may feel expensive or intimidating.
The content creator also stressed the impact of mental health on professional performance, explaining that her mood could affect her work as a creator. “If I’m sad, they will notice that I’m sad. If I’m happy, they will notice I’m happy,” she said.
Her candid discussion seeks to normalise mental health conversations, particularly in the creative and online industries, and to remind followers that even those who appear constantly cheerful may struggle privately.
