Raymond Archer, Deputy Executive Director of the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO), is bereaved, following the passing of his beloved father, Charles Kwesi Archer, affectionately known as “Master Archer”. He died at the age of 77.
The late Charles Kwesi Archer, a well-respected figure in both his family and community, was called to glory surrounded by loved ones.
His passing has been deeply felt by traditional authorities, community members, extended family, and the Riss Presbyterian Church of Ghana congregation in Wassa Akropong in the Wassa Amenfi East of the Western Region.
He was the son of the late Dawulor Archer and Fafa Dzotsi and is survived by his widow, Madam Charity Yofi Dordoye, and children, including Mr Kwame Archer, Ms Mawunyo Archer, Dr Edward Worlanyo Archer, and Deputy EOCO Boss, Raymond Archer, as well as 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
According to the funeral arrangements, the body will lie in state on Saturday, May 3, 2025, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. at Riss Presbyterian Church, Wassa Akropong. The burial service will follow at 9:00 a.m. at the same venue.
Interment will be a private burial at Akatsi Tatorme in the Akatsi South District of the Volta Region.
The final funeral rites will take place on Saturday, May 3, 2025, at noon at the Wassa Akropong Community Funeral Grounds, while the thanksgiving service will be held on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 8:00 a.m., at Riss Presbyterian Church, Wassa Akropong.
The family, has announced that there will be no wake. The attire for the funeral is black on Saturday and black and white on Sunday for the Thanksgiving service.
He is mourned by his siblings—Agnes Archer, Yao Kuma Archer, Theresah Archer, and Elizabeth Archer—as well as in-laws Nura Archer, Henrietta Kolson-Archer, and Jeff Aboyer, among many others from Wassa and Tatorme.
The extended family, including traditional rulers such as Torgbui Adedri Ahortor TV, Torgbui Azadagli III, Torgbui Akoto II, and many others, together with the chiefs, queen mothers, and opinion leaders from Tatorme, Akatsi, and Wassa Akropong, have all expressed their heartfelt condolences and are actively involved in the funeral rites.
Friends, sympathisers, and members of the public are warmly invited to join and pay their final respects to the late Master Archer.
