The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, Hon James Gyakye Quayson, has received the Executive Secretary of the National Peace Council, Dr George Amoh, to discuss deepening collaboration on peacebuilding and conflict prevention.
The meeting, held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, focused on strengthening institutional partnerships between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Peace Council to promote national cohesion, social harmony and sustainable peace.
Hon Quayson commended the council for its sustained efforts in advancing peace and unity at both community and national levels, noting that its work remains critical to Ghana’s democratic stability. He reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to supporting initiatives that enhance dialogue, prevent conflict and consolidate national unity.
Dr Amoh expressed appreciation for the ministry’s continued cooperation and support, stressing the importance of sustained engagement between state institutions involved in peacebuilding. He underscored the need for joint initiatives, regular consultations and coordinated public education to improve the impact of peace programmes across the country.
Both parties agreed on the need to intensify collaboration and expand public awareness of ongoing peacebuilding efforts. The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to strengthening partnerships and promoting a culture of peace as a foundation for Ghana’s social and political development.
