The Minister of Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Baah Forson, is scheduled to be in Parliament today, Thursday, November 13, to present the 2026 budget statement and government economic policy.
It will be the second budget presentation by the Finance Minister after he delivered a first on Tuesday, March 11, a couple of months after the National Democratic Congress (NDC) took over power.
As characteristic of him, Dr Ato Forson has interacted with market women for their inputs ahead of his presentation.
This time he chose the Takoradi Market Circle, where he interacted with a few traders.
The Finance Minister is enjoined by Article 179 of the 1992 Constitution to present the government’s economic policy.
The policy will give a breakdown of the programmes and projects of the Mahama-led administration for the second year of his second term.
Before Thursday’s presentation, scheduled at 2:00pm, the Appointments Committee will also lay before the House its report on Monday’s vetting of the Chief Justice nominee, Paul Baffoe-Bonnie.
