Four persons have been arrested by officers of the Ghana Police Service in connection with the murder of the Akwamuhene of Tanoso in the Bono East Region.
The deceased chief was said to have been destooled but had rejected the decision and engaged the family in multiple litigations.
He was later found dead, murdered in cold blood.
The suspects arrested after intelligence are Issifu Addae, alias Akwasi Addae, Stephen Gyamfi, Augustine Arhinful and Martha Mansah.
Four other persons have been named as persons of interest and are being pursued by the police.
“The four suspects are currently in police custody assisting in investigations,” a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Service, Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, said.
Meanwhile, police have intensified efforts to track down the remaining suspects to face the full rigours of the law.
