Ghana’s Minister of Energy and Green Transition, Hon. John Abdulai Jinapor, held high-level discussions with Denmark’s Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Jakos Linulf, focusing on strategic collaboration in the energy sector.
According to Hon. Jinapor, the talks centered on leveraging Denmark’s extensive experience in renewable energy, particularly through the Danish Energy Agency, to support Ghana’s ongoing green transition agenda. Ambassador Linulf reaffirmed Denmark’s commitment to assist Ghana through knowledge transfer and capacity building for sector experts and policymakers.
Hon. Jinapor emphasized the Government of Ghana’s dedication, under President John Dramani Mahama, to increasing the share of renewable energy in the country’s energy mix. He highlighted the investor-friendly policies designed to attract both local and international investment, aimed at accelerating the adoption of sustainable energy solutions.

The discussions underscored the shared vision of both countries to advance renewable energy infrastructure, promote sustainable development, and foster innovation in energy management. Ghana’s energy ministry views Denmark’s support as pivotal in enhancing technical expertise and policy formulation to achieve its green energy targets.
The engagement reflects Ghana’s broader strategy to strengthen international partnerships while transitioning toward a cleaner, more sustainable energy sector. Both parties expressed optimism that continued cooperation will create opportunities for capacity development, technological exchange, and investment, further cementing Ghana-Denmark relations in the energy domain.
