Ghana’s Most Wanted Criminal Nabbed in Togo

The notorious armed bandit, Adinda Akpo Abdul Moudjibou, who had been giving Ghanaian police the slip for over a year, has finally been busted in Togo. The daring criminal, also known as Mohammed Djandjo, had been on the run following a string of high-profile heists in posh areas like East Legon, Cantonments, and Ridge in Accra.

DCOP Lydia Donkor, the bigwig in charge of Police CID, spilled the beans that Moudjibou, the kingpin behind a spree of brazen robberies targeting the wealthy and powerful, had been operating with his partner-in-crime, Alidu Marzouk, alias Rashid Bawa. Marzouk had already been nabbed in Ghana last year after a top-notch operation targeting upscale neighborhoods.

The law enforcers had been hot on Moudjibou’s tail since 2023 when they got wind that he had slipped out of the country. The audacious criminal, holding both Ghanaian and Togolese IDs, had been quite the elusive bird until an Interpol Red Notice was slapped on him by the Adabraka District Court.

Fast forward to May 14, 2025, a crack team led by DCOP Donkor swooped down on Togo to haul in the fugitive. DCOP Donkor revealed, “We had solid intel that Moudjibou had been holed up in Togo, so we had our Interpol comrades there do the honors.”

Moudjibou’s rap sheet reads like a crime thriller – from a jaw-dropping heist at Abu Sakara’s mansion in Airport Residential Area, to bold burglaries at Sir Sam Jonah’s palace, Matilda Amissah Arthur’s fortress in Tesano, and the swanky residence of Ibrahim Mahama in Cantoment. The criminal mastermind even made off with a cool 50,000 euros, GHC 6,000, and two Rolex watches from Fred Badeabe’s crib in East Legon.

The long arm of the law is now closing in on Moudjibou and his accomplice, with investigations and legal proceedings kicking off in Ghana. But the hunt isn’t over yet, as the police are on the trail of more suspects linked to the gang. Stay tuned for more on this gripping crime saga.
