The Acting CEO of the Ghana International Trade and Finance Conference (GITFiC), Selassie Kofi Ackom, on Monday led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Speaker of Parliament Alban S.K. Bagbin ahead of the 9th Global Debt Initiative Conference set for Nov. 27–28, 2025, in Accra.
Speaker Bagbin underscored the urgency of stronger advocacy for debt relief, saying developing nations continue to struggle under mounting financial pressures. He emphasized that Africa’s biggest barriers remain trade and finance.
Ackom commended the Speaker’s consistent leadership on debt sustainability, noting that his guidance will shape discussions at the upcoming conference.
