Reigning VGMA Artiste of the Year Kuami Eugene has clarified that he is not furious at rapper Sarkodie for the supposed endorsement verse in the song ‘Happy Day’.
Rapper Sarkodie on Monday released a controversial single, which featured Kuami Eugene.
Social media users have attributed a verse in the song to be an endorsement for the incumbent president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, and his party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Kuami Eugene expressed surprise at assertions that he is angry with Sarkodie.
“I don’t have time to fight with Sarkodie so I don’t understand why people are saying I am angry at Sarkodie,” he said in an interview on Onua FM’s Anigye Mmre on Thursday, November 5.
“I did a song as a musician helping a boss in music.”
To him, the ‘Open Gate’ hitmaker said the song is a thanksgiving song and not an endorsement.
“I only did a thanksgiving song.
“Sarkodie asked for my help which I accepted. I did my chorus for him so whatever is going on, I actually don’t have a hand in it.
“The song is trending so we have to let go of any issues,” he added.

A disappointed Kuami Eugene had told MzGee that he had no idea about the ‘Nana Toaso’ verse in the song.
He insisted, however, that it is not an issue he has to settle with Sarkodie but rather their managements will do that.
The song has, already, received thumbs-up from President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
