The Accra High Court, which ruled on Friday morning that the family of late Highlife musician Daddy Lumba should meet and settle on a new date for his funeral, has reviewed its decision.
The Court has asked the plaintiffs to pay Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu GH¢2 million by 2pm, failure of which the body should be released for the funeral tomorrow, Saturday, December 13.
The latest decision comes after the defendants sought a review of the decision.
The presiding judge had adjourned the case to Thursday, January 15, ordering both the immediate family and the extended family to agree within three weeks on a date for the final funeral rites.
The decision technically stopped the Ekuona clan, led by Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu, from holding the funeral on Saturday, December 13 at the Heroes Park of the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
Canopies had been erected while brisk preparations were ongoing until Friday’s decision.
But the judge ruled that if the amount is paid to Abusuapanyin Kofi Owusu by the set time, the bodyust be released by the 2nd defendant for the already planned funeral rites on Saturday.
