Former President John Dramani Mahama has recounted some of the policies he introduced that ensured business growth in Ghana during his tenure.
According to him, some of the decisions “were tough but necessary”.
The former president made this known on Friday, February 10, when he addressed members of Kenya’s business community.
The event was organized by the Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA).
Speaking at the Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi, Ghana’s former leader recounted how public sector wage bill was reduced from 76 per cent to 49 per cent to free up funds for infrastructural development.

He said removal of subsidies on fuel, for instance, were tough.
He prayed for the continuation of projects implemented by previous governments.
“The tendency of new governments in Africa to cancel agreements signed by a former government does not augur well for business growth.”
He also called for policy consistency.
